ASA’s Independent Complaints Council has upheld 18 cases in full, and one case in part in its latest complaints bulletin. Advertisements across Online, Social Media, Television, Outdoor and Email were found to be in breach of the ASA Code. One of the complaints upheld was made by an intra-industry (competitive) complainant. The Complaints Council chose not to uphold five complaints.

The Complaints Council is a completely independent arm of the Advertising Standards Authority and is responsible for considering and adjudicating on complaints submitted by the public, by an organisation, by a Government Department, or any other person or body. The Council is made up of a range of experts from the advertising, media, education, consumer, and marketing sectors.
